Day 2
Ngorongoro national park
Enjoy breakfast around 6:00 am before departing for Ngorongoro Crater for an 8-hour park ride. The crater stands as one of the world's most remarkable natural wonders, formed by a colossal volcanic explosion and collapse around three million years ago. It boasts the highest density of big game in Africa, including the renowned Big Five and numerous predators.
This UNESCO World Heritage site is a must-see, offering a unique experience. Witness the magic of Ngorongoro as you peer over its mist-covered forests from the crater's edge before descending into a vast plain teeming with wildlife. The crater's steep walls rise from 400 to 610 meters above the floor, covering a base of 264 square kilometers (19km in diameter). The original volcano's height is estimated to have been between 4,500 and 5,800 meters.
Day 3
Materuni waterfall
After breakfast at your hotel, embark on a safari to explore the rich cultural heritage of the Chagga people. Engage in traditional practices such as the making of banana beer and the art of coffee roasting, with the opportunity to actively participate in the coffee-making process. Following this cultural exploration, refresh yourself with a swim at the pool located at the base of the enchanting Materuni Waterfalls.
Spend a few hours unwinding, engaging in conversation, and enjoying a leisurely swim, perhaps accompanied by a chilled beer or soft drink. Conclude your day with the option to savor lunch either at the waterfalls or hot springs before returning to your Arusha hotel. Later, head to the airport for your flight to Zanzibar at 4:30 pm, where you'll be transferred to the hotel upon arrival.
